Activision Publishing, Inc. (1992 onward), formerly known as Computer Arts, Inc. (1979), Activision, Inc. (1979–1988, 1992–2000), and Mediagenic (1988–1992), is a game developing and publishing company that acquired RedOctane, the publisher of the Guitar Hero series in 2006. They have published every game in the series since then.
