Avenged Sevenfold (also known by the abbreviation "A7X"), are an American metal band from Huntington Beach, California. They have achieved mainstream success with their third album City of Evil (2005), which spawned singles such as "Bat Country", "Beast and the Harlot" and "Seize the Day". The success followed with their self-titled album, Avenged Sevenfold (2007) with singles such as "Almost Easy", "Afterlife" and "Dear God". Their most recent album, Hail to the King (2013), has some of the band's greatest work, with hits such as "Shepherd of Fire" and the title track, "Hail to the King".
