Blur are an English rock band, consisting of vocalist Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, drummer Dave Rowntree, and bassist Alex James. Initially formed in 1988 as Seymour, they are credited as pioneers of the brit-pop genre. After a chart battle with rival band Oasis in 1995, Blur abandoned their brit-pop sound in favor of a loud and noisy alternative style, under the suggestion of Coxon. The band continued until 2003 with Think Tank following the departure of Coxon. The band later reformed in 2009 with Coxon and went on a tour in Europe and played Hyde Park for the London 2012 Olympic Games. They released The Magic Whip in 2015.

Damon Albarn is also the lead vocalist and co-founder of virtual band Gorillaz, whose song Feel Good Inc. is included in Guitar Hero 5, along with Blur's own Song 2.
