Expert+ (also written as Expert +) is a new difficulty level in the Guitar Hero series exclusively for Drums that was introduced in Guitar Hero: Metallica.

In this difficulty level, the notes are the same as in Expert except for the bass drum notes. In a stream of bass drum notes (1/16th notes or less distanced), Expert difficulty will ignore every other bass drum note while Expert+ difficulty includes them. Due to this, Expert+ recommends an additional kick pedal to play, though the player can possibly play this difficulty with only one kick petal with footing techniques. Songs that support the difficulty are marked with an "Expert +" icon.
Ghost notes[]
In Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, ghost notes are included in Expert+ and they are difficult to hear, but help drummers stay in rhythm. Ghost notes appear to be transparent notes, similar to slider/tap notes on Guitar and Bass. They can be played normally but lightly tapping them scores more points. A few songs will have ghost notes, but they come in a rare case, such as "Cherry Bomb".

- Band Hero doesn't have any on-disc song that has an Expert+ difficulty but the game does support this difficulty level through downloadable content and song imports from other games that have them.
