Discography

  • Foo Fighters (1995)
    • Back in this time, Foo Fighters was solely Dave Grohl's solo project. The forming of a band (Mendel and Goldsmith coming from the then-recently disbanded Sunny Day Real Estate) came from the attention the album drew in the recording industry.
    • Hits from this album: "I'll Stick Around", "Big Me", "This is a Call"
    • Other noteworthy songs: "Alone + Easy Target", "X-Static"
  • The Colour and the Shape (1997)
    • First album recorded by the Foo Fighters as a full-fledged band; first album with then-Alanis Morissette drummer Taylor Hawkins, even though William Goldsmith was still the official drummer at the time.
    • Hits from this album: "Everlong", "Monkey Wrench", "My Hero", "Walking After You"
    • Other noteworthy songs: "My Poor Brain", "See You", "Enough Space", "New Way Home"
  • There is Nothing Left to Lose (1999)
    • Only album with Foo Fighters as a three-piece, after Pat Smear and William Goldsmith left the band - only the latter was replaced then, by Taylor Hawkins. Scream guitarist Franz Stahl had replaced Smear, but left the band during the recording sessions of this album.
    • Hits from this album: "Learn to Fly", "Breakout", "Stacked Actors"
    • Other noteworthy songs: "Gimme Stitches", "Generator", "Next Year"
  • One By One (2002)
    • First album with the current formation, with former No Use for a Name guitarist Chris Shiflett joining after the release of There is Nothing Left to Lose.
    • Hits from this album: "All My Life", "Times Like These", "Low"
    • Other noteworthy songs: "Have It All", "Burn Away"
  • In Your Honor (2005)
    • Double album. One of the discs is fully made of acoustic songs.
    • Hits from this album: "Best of You", "DOA", "Resolve", "No Way Back"
