GH3+ is a plug-in system created by ExileLord for the PC version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock to enhance the gaming experience of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock with additional notes features that were not normally in Guitar Hero III that would have been introduced later, such as tap notes, HOPO chords, and open notes, along with other fixes and effects.

v0.3 (January 13, 2016) / v0.31 release (September 7, 2016)
- Fixes a bug where tapping/HOPO chords didn't work for Player 2 in co-operative play.
v0.4 release (October 13, 2016) / v0.5 release (October 21, 2016)
- Everything was rewritten to prevent false positive detections from anti-virus programs.
- Fix gem mutation with tap notes and star power and star power phrases. (video demonstration)
- Optional plug-ins are included in an "inactive" folder including: AlwaysDoubleNotes.dll, ForceStrumNotes.dll, ForceTapNotes.dll, GemShuffle.dll, I_HAVE_THE_POWER.dll, MirrorMode.dll, and SpeedHack.dll. Move these plug-ins in the base PLUGINS folder to activate these plug-ins.
- Includes other tools such as chartEdit, Open-GHTCP, QueenBee, and Section Key Generator.
v0.6 release (February 23, 2017)
- TapChordHOPOs.dll was updated to support open notes.
- Added Aditu's fix for the SpeedHack plugin so the plugin no longer requires going into Practice mode to setup and framerate should be more stable.

Default plug-ins
- core.dll: The master plug-in that is required for all other plug-ins to function.
- NoteLimitFix.dll: Prevents the game from crashing when playing a song with more than 4,000 notes that would cause the game to crash.
- TapChordHOPOs.dll: Enables tap notes and chord HOPOs in custom songs that supports them. v0.6 update included the ability to play open notes in custom songs that supports them.
- TiltFix.dll: Fixes for activating star power via tilting.
- WhammyFix.dll: Fixes for the whammy including shortening the width of the whammy graphical effect.
Optional plug-ins
- AlwaysDoubleNotes.dll: All notes adds one extra note (up to a 3-note chord) similar to the Double Notes Battle Mode power-up throughout all songs while this is active.
- ForceStrumNotes.dll: All notes on screen become strum notes throughout all songs while this is active. ForceTapNotes.dll is not recommended to be active alongside this.
- ForceTapNotes.dll: All notes on screen become tap notes while this is active. ForceStrumNotes.dll is not recommended to be active alongside this.
- GemShuffle.dll: Randomizes the graphical colors of all gem notes.
- I_HAVE_THE_POWER.dll: The graphics of the gem notes become the blue Star Power lightning strike.
- MirrorMode.dll: Flip all notes on screen. This is different from Lefty Flip as all green notes become orange notes and all red notes become blue notes and vice-versa.
- SpeedHack.dll: Change the speed of songs to be faster or slower. Changing the speed affects both tempo and frequency/pitch.
