The Guitar Hero 5 Wireless Guitar Controller (officially titled Wireless Controller for PlayStation 2 & 3[1]/Xbox 360[2]/Wii and unofficially nicknamed Guitar Hero 5 Genericaster) is an updated Guitar Hero World Tour Wireless Guitar Controller, bundled with Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

Appearance and function[]

The Guitar Hero 5 guitar controller is, overall, more realistic than the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar controller as the nuts on the neck are made with chrome instead of plastic, along with the slide bar blending in more with the neck. The strum bar, Start, and Star Power buttons have all been rubberized. Its faceplate and the World Tour guitar faceplates are interchangeable. The slider bar is now digital instead of analog like previous controllers.

A wired version of the Guitar Hero 5 Wired Guitar Controller with an Xbox 360 USB connection cable on the body also existed for demo kiosks at retail stores but were not available for sale. Design-wise, it is the same as the consumer wireless version.
