Guitar Hero 7 was going to be the seventh main entry in the Guitar Hero series. It was in development by Vicarious Visions in 2010, but the game was cancelled during the middle of development in 2011. Guitar Hero 7 was going to be different from the other Guitar Hero games, but due to a troubled development cycle, the game would've been a disaster.[3]

On April 14, 2015, the real seventh main entry of the Guitar Hero games, titled Guitar Hero Live, was announced[5] which was released on October 20, 2015 in North America and Australia and October 23, 2015 in Europe.

Potential gameplay

Guitar Hero 7 was going to have six-string guitar controllers (prototype based on the Yamaha EZ-AG) with six colored GRYBOP fret buttons, which according to leaked in-game screenshots, presumably useable for Guitar, Bass, Live Guitar, and Live Bass playable instruments. Vocals and Drums were stated not to be supported but leaked in-game screenshots display song intensities for these instruments.[3][4]

According to Kotaku's article, Guitar Hero 7 would have featured various songs from 1990s as well as other songs such as:[3]

Additionally, from the screenshots leaked by Twitter user and lost media freelancer @Doctor_Cupcakes, song titles and artists that were featured in the My Songs menu included:[7]

It is unknown whether or not these songs in the leaked screenshots were meant to be in the game or were just placeholder titles until an official setlist would have been announced.
