Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s was the fourth Guitar Hero video game to receive unofficial achievements support for the RetroAchievements achievement service, submitted on April 21, 2023 (listed as Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the '80s with an apostrophe) as well as a subset of achievements for full combos on Expert difficulty.[1]

Unofficial PlayStation 2 achievements of Guitar Hero (NTSC version supported for now) can be unlocked by signing into RetroAchievements in any of these following supported software:

  • PCSX2 Qt v1.7.3350 or newer for computers (latest version recommended)
  • NetherSX2 v1.8 or newer for Android[2]
  • XBSX2 UWP v2.0.8.3 or newer for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S[2]

Guitar input is supported in PCSX2 Qt since v1.7.4792 released on July 24, 2023. AetherSX2 and NetherSX2, however, do not support guitar input but mobile gamers can make use with a touchscreen in gamepad mode.
