"Purple Haze" is a song from a live 1969 Jimi Hendrix recording in San Diego that originally appeared on his first international album "Are You Experienced?" and is featured as a song in Guitar Hero World Tour. The song is mostly the same as its more famous studio original, albeit with several changes. The tempo is much faster, the song is in a different key than the original, and several added guitar parts are dubbed in, as well as vocal sections. However, the most notable difference is, following the final vocal section in the original, in this live one the band finishes what is normally the fade out and goes back into the regular riff again that without warning turns into a massive new guitar solo that ends the song, as well as feedback effects, making it one of the more interesting tracks in Guitar Hero World Tour. "The Wind Cries Mary" is also in World Tour. Jimi Hedrix plays these songs but is not a playable character. Hendrix being in the game could also be the reason for Xavier Stone not being in the game.
