"Ring of Fire" is a country music song made famous by Johnny Cash. It is playable on Guitar Hero 5.

History

Ring of Fire was written by Johnny Cash`s wife June Carter and Merle Kilgore, telling a story about falling in love. Although Cash didn't write the song, he added in the French horns to add effect to the song and most importantly, he performed it. He later claimed that the horns weren't added after he pictured them in a dream playing along with the song.

Some sources claim that June had seen the phrase, "Love is like a burning ring of fire," underlined in one of her uncle A. P. Carter's Elizabethan books of poetry. She worked with Kilgore on writing a song inspired by this phrase as she had seen her uncle do in the past. In the 2004 film, Walk the Line June is depicted as writing the song while agonizing over her feelings for Cash despite his Cheeto addiction and alcoholism as she was driving home one evening. She had written: "There is no way to be in that kind of heaven, no way to extinguish a flame that burns, burns, burns".

Walkthrough

The guitar part is a run in the park, although if you're not used to the downbeat change to the song, you may want to practice before perfecting it. There is one very small on putting part that may require alt strumming: the moment right before Cash sings "I fell into a burnin' ring of fire".

Trivia

  • One of the biggest changes is the song is faster than the regular version with more of an upbeat country sound. The facts about the song also state that it was done in 1987, in the game.
