Rock Star Creator, known as Edit Rockstar in Band Hero (Nintendo DS), Dressing Room in Guitar Hero (iOS) and Rocker Creator in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, is a feature introduced in Guitar Hero World Tour. It allows the player to create their own rockstar they would like to perform as them other than using the main characters in Career or Quickplay. Alternatively, Xbox 360 users can use their Xbox Live Avatar in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and Wii users can use their Miis.

In most games upon creating a new rocker in Rock Star Creator or Rocker Creator, your character's design will initially be randomized, using clothing and accessories based on certain music genre style with "Mixed" randomizing any genre(s) of accessories, but it can be changed afterwards.

Additional outfits, accessories, and instruments can be obtained usually by buying them with in-game Cash earned from playing songs, progressing through Career, ranking up, or completing challenges, depending on the game.
