GHTunes examples[]

Despite having a worldwide release after Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero, Guitar Hero: Van Halen was being developed by Underground Entertainment while Neversoft was developing Guitar Hero 5 (Van Halen was originally a pre-order bonus for it in North America), Guitar Hero: Van Halen was based on Guitar Hero World Tour with updated features from Metallica and Smash Hits, thus it uses the original Music Studio feature instead of Guitar Hero 5's new and improved GHStudios, and custom songs are uploaded to the original GHTunes online servers.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen Hits comes with 8 premade GHTunes example songs on its game disc (for both the promo and retail versions), composed by Underground Development's music team.

Notes:
  1. ^ Both the in-game song titles and the song titles in the "Example Songs" list in the Music Studio use the song's full title, making Guitar Hero: Van Halen the only World Tour-styled video game not to have short names for the in-game song title.
  2. ^ Players' custom songs have a 17-character limit (spaces included) but "QXP-13 Space Modulator" is 21 characters long (spaces included) in its in-game title.
