"Slash Guitar Battle" (known as "Guitar Battle vs. Slash" during Solo Career) is a song from Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
It is a special composition made especially for the game by Slash himself (the lead guitarist from Guns N' Roses), who appears as a playable character after you defeat him, and is the game's second boss battle, the first being a battle against Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello.
Guitar Battle walkthrough[]
This time the battle will be harder than dueling Tom Morello, but still nothing that keeps you for hours trying again and again. The easiest way to beat him is by keeping all the power-ups until you have three. Then throw the first one, wait until its damage is totally done and proceed with the other two. Throw them when he is doing a big solo, and you'll beat him. A good time to use any power-up is when he has a long string of rapidly repeating red, yellow, and blue notes. A whammy bar power-up or even better a double note power-up there will probably finish him off. A good and fast way to beat him is getting the first powerup in the battle. Some say that if there was full band support for this song, and it had the same difficulty rating system as Guitar Hero 5 and Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock, Guitar would have a 90%, Bass would have a 60%, and Drums would have a 50%.
DLC version[]
The full version of this song is titled "Slash Guitar Battle", and was available in the Boss Battles Track Pack for free for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players since November 15, 2007 and before April 1st, 2014, when Activision shut down the Guitar Hero franchise's DLC stores. Unlike the Guitar Battle version of this song that can only be played in Solo Career, this version is found in the "Downloads" setlist, which makes it playable in both Careers and Quickplay.
