"The Boys Are Back In Town" was written by Phil Lynott and produced by John Alcock in 1976, on their album, Jailbreak (album). It was ranked 38 on Q Magazine's 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. It's popularity has also made it a popular song at Irish Rugby matches. Another sign of popularity is it's multiple appearances on movie trailers and commercials. The most popular ones are heard on every Toy Story trailer.
In Rolling Stone magazine's, 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, James Hetfield said that The Boys Are Back In Town was his 10th favorite song, which is a coincidence considering they both appear in Guitar Hero: Metallica.
