Vicarious Visions, Inc. was an American video game developer founded in Albany, New York. The studio was obtained by Activision in January 2005 as a subsidiary to Activision, and was later moved by Activision Blizzard from a subsidiary of Activision to a subsidiary of Blizzard Entertainment on January 22, 2021.[1] The acquired company was then merged into Blizzard in April 2022, becoming Blizzard Albany.
When they were Vicarious Visions, the former company was commonly known for developing handheld games and porting console games to handheld platforms and Nintendo consoles but the company has made quality titles on various home consoles as well.

- One of the employees of Vicarious Visions, Anton Struyk, was the developer of the Guitar Hero-inspired game Freetar (also known as Freetar Game and formerly Freetar Hero) and its Freetar Editor note chart-editing program.[4] Struyk discontinued Freetar and its song editing program after acquiring a job there. He was involved in the development of Guitar Hero: On Tour for Nintendo DS released in 2008 and was a UI designer for the cancelled Guitar Hero 7 video game.[3]
